Our work makes a real difference for our clients and the millions of people we reach every day in 22 languages worldwide.Come join us in affecting real change in the world!Note: This is a full-time, 6-month contract position.Role:Intertek Catalyst is now hiring an Illustrator to join the Creative Team here in Guelph, Canada. The ideal Illustrator candidate will be part of a team responsible for the concept development, design and production of creative training and awareness materials. Reporting to the Lead Art Director, this key member of our design studio will work closely with other Designers, Illustrators, Motion Designers, Art Directors, Instructional Designers, and Project Managers.The Illustrator will have a passion for all aspects of graphic design: creative concepts, photography, illustration, typography, and layout. They will also have a good understanding of brand development, icon systems development, storyboarding, motion design, video editing, and UX/UI.Major Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

• Participate and collaborate in brainstorm and concept meetings
• Collaborate with the Art Directors and Senior Illustrator to develop icon-based communication systems, custom illustrations, style guides, and graphic production templates
• Work with Art Directors to develop concept sketches and detailed storyboards for video and motion graphics production
• Create high quality instructional designs in conjunction with other Designers and Art Directors
• Produce production-ready assets from initial art concepts while adhering to brand standards
• Manage ongoing deadlines and tasks efficiently as set out by the Project Manager
• Contribute to the quality assurance of all project deliverables

Requirements:

• A degree or diploma in Graphic Design or equivalent professional experience
• An online portfolio that demonstrates creative problem-solving abilities, strong aesthetics and design principles in layout design, and digital illustration
• Proficient in Adobe Creative Suite programs such as Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, and InDesign. Experience working with Adobe Premiere and After Effects is a plus
• Ability to illustrate digitally with an iPad and Procreate, or via other digital input devices such Cintiq or Wacom tablet is a plus
• A design-thinking approach to problem solving
• Excellent communications skills
• Preference for working collaboratively within teams
• Ability to thrive under pressure in a fast-paced multi-project environment
• Detail oriented, organized, and a naturally strong work ethic
• An instinctive curiosity and drive to continually learn and develop professionally.
