The Junior Buyer maintains and supports internal systems for procurement activity and facilitates the timely and consistent supply of a variety of equipment and supplies._____________________________________________________________________________________________Qualifications, Experience, Skills and Abilities:

  • Diploma or Certificate in Materials Management Supply Chain or Procurement eg. Certified Supply Chain Management Professional (CSCMP)
  • PMAC (Purchasing Management Association of Canada) SCMAO (Supply Chain Management Association of Ontario) Purchasing Certification or working toward certification would be considered an asset.
  • Minimum of three (3) years purchasing experience required, where there was exposure and experience to the Ontario Broader Public Sector Directive.
  • Advanced computer skills (Microsoft Suite)
  • Previous experience with computerized Materials Management applications
  • Must be able to make decisions on quality and accuracy of work and show initiative to initiate positive change for patient care support
  • Must be able to organize and prioritize workload while functioning independently with minimum supervision
  • Possess above average public relations skills combined with the ability to relate and perform well under pressure in a positive, courteous, cooperative manner.
  • Ability to develop and maintain strong working relationships with end-users and supplier community
  • Must be able to work productively and independently in a high pressure, demanding setting with frequent distractions and interruptions
  • Must have excellent interpersonal and communication skills, verbal and written
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and in a self-directed manner as well as collaboratively within a team in a fast-paced and ever-changing environment
  • Demonstrated commitment to excellent customer service when interacting with patients, families, colleagues and physicians
