Job Description

Who We AreHere at Mitsubishi Advanced Chemical Materials Composites Canada, we are a part of the global Mitsubishi Corporation, under the Chemical Holdings branch. In Guelph, we manufacture plastic composite sheets for the automotive and construction industry.We are looking for a machine operator to join us on the Continental Day/Night Shifts, from 7 - 7. Employees on this shift work 3 shifts a week currently, up to a maximum of four per week as production needs change. Shifts are straight, they do not rotate.Purpose of the PositionThis position is responsible for operating, monitoring and maintaining our machines alongside a production team on the designated shift to produce products on-time, efficiently, with good quality and with the highest level of safety. The incumbent selected will be responsible as a team member on the daily production shift to achieve key plant targets.Main Duties / Accountability

  • To operate in accordance with plant policies and procedures at the highest level of safety.
  • To be a key contributor and interactive participant in the SAFESTART employee behavior based safety program.
  • To be an interactive participant in the KAITEKI culture. Careful use/handling of resources to contribute on the sustainable well-being of people, society and our planet Earth.
  • Able to retain training to do their work.
  • Maintains safe and clean work environment by maintaining compliance with established policies and procedures.
  • Monitoring to see that the finished products obtained from the machines are matching the quality and quantity requirements of the company
  • Maintains quality by making sure that products are produced on time and are of good quality. Immediate notification to shift leader regarding poor quality product out of tolerance in-process on the line and at Final Inspection.
  • Ensure compliance with the ISO quality system standard.
  • Direct contributor to Key Plant Targets for Scrap Rate, Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE), Customer Quality Claims and No Lost Time Accidents.
  • Responsible as a team member for satisfying the production schedule for quantity and completion time. Directly responsible within the team for start-ups, shutdowns, and changeovers within required time frame.
  • Ensure proper labelling, identification and traceability of finished goods and raw materials put back to inventory.
  • Operates machine and control panel to regulate speeds, feed rate of materials through machine.
  • Operate within standard operating procedures (SOPs) and Job Safety Analysis (JSAs).
  • Back up for shipping and receiving, material handling.
  • Clean and organize plant, put raw materials away. Develop work instructions and test procedures.
  • Manage the calibration of tools and equipment in the required time. Maintain the records and the C of C.
  • Maintain document control.
  • Retain and file quality training records, update training matrix when required.
  • Overall goal is to keep the percentage of scrap low and the customer complaints and returns at zero.
  • Other duties as assigned
