Job Description

SummaryAnalyze blueprints and other documentation to prepare cost, materials, and labour estimates. Consult with clients, vendors, and personnel in other departments to discuss and formulate estimates and resolve issues.Job Responsibilities

  • Enters quote information in tracking sheet, assigns a quote number and populates the quote folder with all drawings and specification.
  • Determines component and raw material requirements and consults purchasing on timing and requirements for purchased costs.
  • Assess manufacturing process requirements to estimate labour costs.
  • Compiles all costs to create quoted price for management approval.
  • Sends approved quotes to salesperson or customer.
  • Measures quote metrics such as win/loss, open quote value, quote lead times.
  • Additional responsibilities as assigned
Work Conditions
  • Ability to attend and conduct presentations
  • Ability to physically implement designs
  • Overtime as required
  • Weekend work may be required
Requirements
  • Minimum five year experience in a related field
  • Ability to read blue prints
  • Extensive manufacturing experience, CNC machining would be an asset
  • Understanding of material specifications and protective finishes
  • University or college degree or equal experience
  • Excellent computer skills including MS Excel, Word and Access
  • Enjoys a challenge and working with a broad range of people
  • Detailed, precise and accurate
  • Excellent organizational skills
  • Excellent communication skills
