Job Description

Johnson & Johnson is recruiting for a Quality Specialist I position on the Plant Quality team, for a 12-Months contract, in Guelph Ontario. Apply today!Do you want to have a direct impact on the quality of Johnson & Johnsons OTC products The Quality Specialist I has primary responsibility for assuring the quality of OTC products produced at the Guelph site meet regulations through shop floor decision making, proactive quality activities and batch release to market! We also work closely with members of the Quality and Operations teams to lead projects that improve our compliance profile, right-first-time metrics, and product release cycle times.Key Responsibilities:

  • The Quality Specialist I (Plant Quality) will review batch record documentation related to the manufacturing and testing of bulk work-in-process and finished products
  • They will ensure compliance with internal specifications, regulatory and corporate policies, and work with business partners to support the investigation of quality events
  • They will proactively engage with both Quality and Operations teams to identify compliance risks, implement solutions, improve our culture of compliance and ensure audit readiness
  • We will also identify and implement continuous improvement projects that evolve quality and compliance approaches, improve documentation and process right-first-time, and reduce batch release cycle times
QualificationsEducation:Minimum Bachelor’s Degree in Science or EngineeringExperience and Skills:Minimum 1-2 years of proven experience in a Quality or Operations environment in the pharmaceutical, food or water industries.Required:
  • Experience with pharmaceutical GMPs, processes or equipment
  • Strong digital literacy and some SAP system knowledge
  • Experience with batch record/documentation review
  • Ability to work 3rd shift (Sundays - Thursdays; 11:00pm – 7:00am)
Preferred:
  • Excellent interpersonal and teamwork skills
  • Demonstrated ability to organize and prioritize workload
  • Enjoys working to multiple deadlines in a multifaceted and fast-paced team environment
  • Strong technical writing, verbal communication, and problem-solving skills
  • Process Excellence/Lean certification
Other:
  • The Quality Specialist I (Plant Quality) will work with their computer every day on an almost continuous basis
  • They will need to be able to sustain their visual focus and concentration for extended periods
  • Lifting or moving objects >25lbs/10Kg in weight will be required infrequently
  • Up to 10 % local travel to internal J&J sites and external partner sites may be needed
  • Some shift flexibility and the ability to work overtime is an asset
