Whether you are a team member or a customer, Farm Boy is passionate about creating a unique fresh food shopping experience and ensuring that we deliver on our commitments.As we continue to grow within Ontario, Farm Boy is excited to welcome new team members that share our passion for providing the best fresh shopping experience!Job DescriptionReporting to the Recruitment Manager - Retail and working in our retail stores, this role will be responsible for supporting all aspects of the recruitment process for management and retail level candidates, including assisting with career fairs. The performance of the duties must ensure a quality service approach to all employees, customers and candidates. All responsibilities must be performed in a manner consistent with the Farm Boy Way.Major Responsibilities:

  • Work directly with the Retail Directors and Retail Specialists to identify and anticipate staffing needs and recruit for all positions for existing stores.
  • Actively manage job postings and support the hiring process in the region.
  • Engage and support succession planning by physically working out of various retail stores.
  • Proactively build a database of potential candidates through networking and referrals.
  • Coordinate and implement post-Secondary recruitment plan and build relationships with local schools by networking, conducting presentations and attending organized hiring events.
  • Liaise with local organizations and promote the Farm Boy Way by participating in local career fairs.
  • Help organize and host hiring events
  • Identify and support retail store staffing by monitoring staffing levels
  • Manage the hiring process to ensure compliance with all applicable laws and Farm Boy policy including:
  • Screen resumes and applications
  • Schedule and conduct interviews
  • Organizing second level interviews
  • Conduct tests, reference checks, etc.
  • Present job offers to successful candidates and coordinate start dates
  • May be requested to undertake other related duties on a periodic basis.
Qualifications
  • Typically requires completion of a post-secondary program with an emphasis in Human Resources plus 1-2 years of experience in recruitment, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Working knowledge of the Employment Standards Act and Health and Safety Legislation.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet established goals and objectives with minimal supervision.
  • Superior standards of customer service when dealing with internal and external customers.
  • Excellent interpersonal & communication skills.
  • Superior time management and organizational skills with keen attention to detail.
  • Well-developed computer skills using Microsoft Suite (e.g. Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Outlook).
  • High respect for confidentiality.
  • Fluency in both official languages shall be considered an asset.
  • Flexible schedule, including availability during evenings and weekends.
  • Physical/Sensory Effort:
  • Providing service to several people or departments, working under many simultaneous deadlines
  • Sitting for long periods of time at workstation
