Job Description

Beautiful golf course in the south end of Guelph is seeking a reliable, experienced server to fill a leadership role on our clubhouses food service team.JOB DESCRIPTION: serve in both restaurant & banquet areas while providing organization & leadership to other servers, taking full responsibility in the absence of managers. Duties include but are not limited to;

  • Working with fellow servers & kitchen staff to ensure timely, accurate & well-presented food, as well as bar service, to customers in the restaurant & banquets, providing direction & allocating duties when necessary
  • Dealing with service errors & customer concerns in a composed manner & if required using good judgment in working out appropriate resolutions
  • Completing floor checks prior to staff departures confirming restaurant, kitchen & banquet areas are maintained to proper standards
  • Following written & verbal directions, coordinate the efficient & accurate setup of restaurant and banquet rooms
  • Ensuring the responsible & legal service of alcohol by all servers, enforcing Ontario Liquor Laws in a professional manner & adhering to the house alcohol policy
  • End of day building closure including cash reconciliation, equipment shutdown & building lockup
JOB QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Minimum 2 years of restaurant, banquet &/or catering service experience
  • Ontario Smart Serve certified
  • Available to work varied shifts - late afternoons/evenings & weekends are essential
  • Strong communication, customer service & people skills
  • Ability to work quickly & collaboratively with others & to respectfully problem solve
  • Ability to stand for long periods of time & perform moderately heavy lifting & carrying
