Job Description

Position:Tactical Security Guard, MallLocation:55 Wyndham St. N, GuelphSchedule:Sunday 11:30 am to 6 pm; Tuesday 5pm to 9pm; Thursday 9:30am to 9pm; Saturday 9:30am to 9pmHourly Pay Rate:$16. 50**Please note that the hours could possibly change in futureWhat does a Security Guard in Guelph do

  • Perform patrols on foot and by car
  • Work closely with the mall services as well as with the emergency services when appropriate
  • Assist visitors, guests and the renters staff with respect to safety, requests for directions, escorts, package transportation, lost vehicles, etc.
  • Apply property rules and regulations in a fair and responsible manner
  • Write daily and incident reports
  • Intervene during medical emergencies and provide first aid
  • Be prepared to respond to situations of crime, urgency and disturbance occurring at the mall
  • Facilitate access to authorized persons to restricted areas
  • Monitor closed circuit cameras (if applicable) to ensure proper operation of the shopping center
  • Answer and follow up on phone calls received by the security service

Qualifications to become a Security Guard in Guelph
  • Possession of a valid provincial security guard license
  • First aid and CPR certification
  • Strong customer service skills
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Ability to exercise sound judgment under stressful situations
