Job Description

Johnson & Johnson is recruiting Technical Packaging Operator positions (Shifts available are on 3rd (Evening) and Weekend shifts), located in Guelph, Ontario, Canada.The Technical Packaging Operator (also known as Setup Technician) works independently under the general supervision of the Packaging Supervisor and performs all the functions related to the operation of all of the packaging lines. The Technical Packaging Operator helps break down prior to a clean, performs basic changeovers/setups, basic troubleshooting, and participates in the daily operation of the lines and material handling. The Technical Packaging Operator performs all activities in compliance with company safety and hygiene requirements, Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP). The technical operator complies with company policies, our Credo and exercises the highest level of integrity in the tasks that are performed.Responsibilities:

  • Perform and report appropriate levels of cleanliness and housekeeping standards as outlined, consistent with the requirements for GMP.
  • Maintains equipment and tools in a clean, safe operating condition.
  • Understands and adheres to the daily and weekly schedule.
  • Functions in compliance with all GMPs, safety requirements and applicable standard operating procedures.
  • Ability to complete shift report.
  • Participates, with leadership, in team and department meetings. Daily shift communications and communications with the team, Supervisor, Manager.
  • Timely change over and set up on specified lines.
  • Timely equipment trouble shooting and escalation of issues from the line as required.
  • Ability to perform line clearances and authorize to package as required
  • Reads the production schedule and collects input from operators to understand goods movements, material requirements and key tasks for the shifts.
  • Has a sound understanding of Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs) and Good Documentation Practices (GDPs).
  • Responsible for working with Supervisor for yearly development of goals and objectives, performance review, and conflict resolution.
QualificationsEducation:
  • High School Diploma or GED equivalency is required
Experience and Skills:Required:
  • A minimum of 2-4 years Packaging Operator experience in a regulated environment
  • Strong computer literacy including knowledge of SAP systems
  • Strong mechanical aptitude, technical skills and troubleshooting abilities
  • Experience working in a Pharmaceutical/OTC and/or GMP environment
  • Able to read, write, and understand Basic English and read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • Operating skills of manufacturing equipment, tools, and hand/forks trucks
  • Proven ability to collaborate and work effectively in a team environment with limited supervision
  • Willing and able to meet the physical demands of this job which include: standing, walking, climbing, bending, stopping, reaching with hands and arms, and use of hands/fingers
Preferred:
  • First aid certification is an asset
Physical Demands:
  • Ability to lift up to 50lbs and maneuvering of equipment is required
