Job Description

The Warehouse Intern works with the Warehouse Associate Team to perform a wide variety of the department job functions in a fast paced work environment. This includes, but is not limited to, receiving, shipping, picking and storage activities. All activities are performed in compliance with company safety and hygiene requirements, Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP).Key Responsibilities:

  • Has a knowledge of GMPs and Good Documentation Practices (GDPs).
  • Material receipt including label generation and documentation review.
  • Performs sampling of packaging components as per SOP requirements and provides samples to the Quality lab.
  • Provides the Packaging & Processing departments with the required packaging components and chemical raw materials.
  • Uses forklift to locate materials in a variety of locations, including standard racking, pushback racking and stacked on the floor.
  • Moves and wraps completed pallets of finished goods into the Warehouse.
  • Coordinates with other departments, carriers and Distribution Centre(s).
  • Able to balance the needs of multiple customers at the same time.
  • Seek opportunities for improvement and willing to implement change.
  • Understands and follows the daily and weekly production schedules for both internal and external requirements.
  • Maintains an updated and current training record and adheres to training timelines.
  • Participates, with leadership, in team and department meetings.
  • Daily shift communications and communications with Supervisor, Manager.
  • Performs other related or assigned duties as the need arises.
  • Maintains an appropriate level of cleanliness, consistent with the requirements for GMPs
Qualifications
  • Actively enrolled in and p ursuing a Bachelors degree.
  • Preferred candidates are in a Warehousing/ Inventory/ Material Management/ Distribution type of program.
  • 2-4 years of Packaging Operator experience in a regulated environment.
  • Forklift license for narrow aisle high reach and counter balance dock truck.
  • Ability to lift, pull and push up to 50 lbs and roll containers weighing up to 300 lbs.
  • Strong digital literacy with previous experience using an ERP system, such as SAP, being an asset.
  • Experience working in a Consumer and/or GMP environment is an asset
  • Ability to collaborate and work successfully in a team environment.
  • Able to read, write, and understand Basic English and read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • Willing and able to meet the physical demands of this job which include: standing, walking, climbing, bending, stopping, reaching with hands and arms.
