Job Description

Shop HandLocation: GuelphSummaryWe’re are looking for a Shop Hand to support our Heavy Equipment Mechanics in our Guelph shop. Duties include cleaning and detailing heavy equipment, general labour, cleaning the shop, and some general grounds-maintenance.Primary Duties & Responsibilities

  • Clean and detail the exterior and interior of heavy equipment
  • Clean, grease, and secure equipment after use
  • Replenish shop rags, sweep the shop floor and the parts room
  • Clean, sweep, tidy lunchroom
  • Summer months will require some lawn and grounds maintenance
  • Winter months will require salting and clearing the walking areas
  • Perform various related duties as required
Qualifications & Experience
  • Minimum of 1 year of experience in a garage environment
  • Ability to run a high-pressure washer to clean exteriors of a variety of heavy equipment
  • Must be able to climb in and out of heavy equipment
  • Ability to work in noisy, dusty and wet conditions
  • Have the physical ability to work in a strenuous and dangerous work environment
  • Experience with heavy equipment is considered an asset
Skills & Abilities
  • Professional, mature conduct is critical for success in this role
  • The successful candidate will be a team player who works well with others
  • Ability to anticipate job site needs in advance
