Job Description

Strategic Risk Solutions Inc (SRS), the world’s largest independent insurance company manager, is growing and looking for an accounting professional to join its servicing team. The successful candidates will have a CPA (or equivalent) and will work in a team to manage the financial and regulatory affairs of a portfolio of captive insurance companies. This position will be based out of Halifax, NS with SRS Managers (Canada) Limited and will be predominantly remote.Responsibilities and Duties:

  • Preparation of financial statements, bank reconciliations, and regulatory filings for a portfolio of captive insurance clients.
  • Review and update insurance documentation and maintain up to date corporate records.
  • Produce reports as may be required by the Company.
  • Consistently and promptly respond to client and inter-office requests.
  • Handle verbal and written client and regulatory communications.
  • Preparing for, presenting in and attending client Board of Director meetings.
  • Provide support as may be necessary to ensure efficient day-to-day operations of the Company and portfolio of client accounts.
Attributes and Skills:
  • Accounting Designation required
  • Insurance accounting experience preferred
  • Self-motivation with the ability to work effectively as part of a team or on individually assigned tasks in a fast-paced environment where exceptional attention to detail, time management and prioritization skills are essential
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Willingness to travel as circumstances require
