Bridge Engineer, for COWI in North America (55686)Do you want to assist a highly professional team of engineers that provides consulting, project management, and detailed engineering services on numerous design projects. You will work closely with a team of experts working alongside our customers on some of North America #39;s most significant projects.Your key responsibilities will be to:

  • Prepare work plans, schedules, and budgets along with performing analysis of complex structures
  • Prepare design calculations and drawings in accordance with applicable design codes, and prepare engineering reports and other technical documents
  • Prepare standard construction documents, such as technical specifications and tender documents
  • Conduct site inspections from time to time and perform other functions as required
  • Plan, evaluate, and adapt work using independent judgment and innovative problem-solving approaches, seeking technical guidance and supervisory approval for complex or unusual problems and project plans.

  • Hold a bachelor #39;s degree in Structural Engineering or higher (Master #39;s degree preferred) and be registered as an Engineer in the home province or state or can obtain within 12 months of employment
  • Be familiar with the use of structural design codes such as CSA-S6, CSCE, and AASHTO along with having sufficient exposure to structural analysis software programs (ex: CSiBridge, MIDAS, SOFiSTiK)
  • Be conversant in the use of engineering software such as Excel, and Mathcad to efficiently produce engineering calculations
  • Be knowledgeable in parametric conceptual designs, the use of programming environments like Dynamo and Grasshopper would be beneficial
  • Holding experience and knowledge of suspension bridges through site, inspection, analysis, or design experience would be beneficial
  • Ideally have the experience and ability to prepare proposals and participate in business development along with the ability and willingness to travel
