EngineeringHalifax, NS14525BRAbout the roleThe successful candidate will be called to work at the Lockheed Martin Canada Inc. (Lockheed Martin) Arctic/Offshore Patrol Ship (AOPS) worksite at Irving Shipbuilding Inc. (ISI) Ltd in Halifax and/or the Naval Dockyard in Halifax NS supporting a myriad of programs. This work will commence once the necessary security clearances have been granted by the Government of Canada (CANADA) and Visit Clearance Request (VCR) approved by CANADA and ISI. The candidate will perform as a member of the Lockheed Martin AOPS Technical Response Team (ATRT) Specializing in connectorization, Corrective Maintenance, In-Service Support (ISS) and Set-To-Work (STW) Activities and should be experienced in MOST of the following aspects of connectorization:Single and Multimode splicing and Connectorization Local Area Network (LAN) connections, including RJ45amp; RJ11 connectors Multi-pin Military specification connectors, using soldering and crimping techniques Coax, Triax and Heliax connections Installation of specialty connectors and conduit as per manufacturer’s instructions This is for support at our Maritime Advanced Training and Test Site (MATTS), the ISI Halifax Shipyard and Royal Canadian Navy (RCN) Dockyard all of which are in the Halifax Regional Municipality The Connectorization Team Member is responsible for performing the connectorization activity and ensuring that the connectorization processes pass required tests to ensure that cabling is properly installed to support Combat System light off and testing.What you bring to the roleBachelors degree from an accredited college in a related discipline, or equivalent experience/combined educationTerminate and/or Test all required contacts into connectors as per written instructions and industry standards Liaise with ATRT Lead and Materials Control lead for management and cataloguing of ship specific connectorization materials for initial and replacement issues Identify and document all Cabling and Connectorization deficiencies to the ATRT Lead Identify and document lessons learned from previous installations of the same System Assembly Review Interface Control Documents (ICDs) and Subcontract Data Requirements Lists (SDRLs) Ensure proper identification of all Cable/Connector Quality Deficiency Reports (QDRs) Support the ATRT Lead in generating and maintaining Cable/Connector installation documentation as required to support the waterfront operation Work to ensure cable/connector work impacting operation of equipment is complete to support Combat System light off 3+ years of operational (shipboard) Combat/Marine Systems refit and/or maintenance experience and/or military/civilian technical training Ability to understand and execute requirements defined in engineering specification packages Must be a team player with excellent verbal skills with the ability to communicate effectively with technical and non-technical members of the engineering/management staff and personnel assigned to related work centres Must be willing to support a 24 x 7 environment including overtime and shift work (including weekends) and support remote customer site installations Candidate must be able to obtain a security clearance prior to working in shipyard, Dockyard or on board ship.Additional skills desired for the roleFamiliar with troubleshooting/repair practices and principles coupled with documented experience using standard test equipment such as network analyzers, Multimeters, Oscilloscope, Time Domain Reflectometer and fibre optic) found in a large-scale systems operational/engineering environment.
