The Deputy Minister works in collaboration with economic development partners, sector leaders, academia and across other levels of government. The Deputy Minister of Economic Development is an integral part of the Committee of Deputy Ministers who lead departments across government. The Deputy Minister is a proven leader with both private and public sector experience. They are results-oriented, relationship focused with a track record for catalyzing change. The Deputy Minister is comfortable in complex environments, risk tolerant and action oriented. They understand the importance of building and supporting a strong team and are passionate about Nova Scotia and the myriad opportunities in the province.The ideal candidate has 10-15 years of executive level experience, leading within complex organizations of varying sizes. They have an entrepreneurial orientation with a track record of identifying trends, seizing opportunities and managing relationships across sectors. They are comfortable working within a publicly accountable context and hold themselves to the highest standards of professional public service.
