Job Description

Job DescriptionThis role is designed to provide a comprehensive blend of ESG reporting and technical accounting expertise. As an ESG Reporting Specialist, you will be the backbone of our company #39;s ESG reporting, ensuring the accuracy, reliability, and integrity of our ESG data. You will also apply your technical accounting knowledge to interpret and apply accounting standards such as IFRS, US GAAP, and FRS 102. This role is critical in driving our company’s commitment to sustainability and transparency, and in meeting the increasing demand from our stakeholders for clear, concise, and meaningful ESG information.

  • Collection, preparation, and analysis of ESG data, focusing on the requirements of the EU Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive (CSRD) and the expectations of other global regulators (e.g., TCFD) and Financial Accounting Standard Setters,
  • Prepare and publish ESG and climate risk reports and disclosures, adhering to established ESG standards and frameworks.
  • Ensure compliance with ESG disclosure requirements in Financial Statements.
  • Monitor ESG industry trends, regulatory developments, and emerging policies/standards, providing insights and recommendations to the business.
  • Prepare and report on ESG matters to the Sustainability Committee, Senior Management, and Boards.
  • Develop and deliver training materials to increase internal capacity around ESG governance and controls.
  • Collaborate with senior stakeholders to implement and adhere to the ESG strategy and roadmap of MUFG IS.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of ESG policies and procedures.
  • Coordinate with internal and external auditors to ensure accurate and timely ESG reporting.
  • Assist the Director of Technical Accounting and Entity Control with various technical accounting issues under US GAAP, IFRS, and FRS 102.
  • Assist with the preparation of monthly and annual financial statements and disclosures in compliance with US GAAP, IFRS, and FRS 102.
  • Research and analyze complex accounting issues and transactions, assess their impact on the organization, and formalize positions and recommendations.
  • Develop and implement accounting policies and procedures in line with US GAAP, IFRS, and FRS.
  • Provide support to internal and external auditors during ESG, financial and operational audits.
  • Keep up to date with ESG regulatory changes and updates related to US GAAP, IFRS, and FRS 102.
  • Communicate with stakeholders about the impact of changes in accounting standards on the company #39;s financial reporting.
