As a regulator, we also help individuals, industries and companies understand and follow the laws that protect the environment and citizens. We have about 300 staff across the province including engineers, public health specialists, biologists, ecologists, policy analysts, researchers, regulators and inspectors.About Our OpportunityThe Sustainability and Applied Science Division of the Department of Environment and Climate Change is responsible for a complex and specialized portfolio of provincial programs and services, including air quality and resource management; water quality; protected areas and environmental health and food safety. The Division provides subject matter expertise, policy development, program leadership and support to the department and the province. The Division is composed of approximately 70 staff with a budget of approximately $9 million dollars, and under federal agreements manages additional resources that flow both to the department and to partners. As the Executive Director, you are accountable for the vision, leadership and management of 4 branches: Air Quality and Resources Branch; Water Branch, Environmental Health and Food Safety Branch and Protected Areas and Ecosystems Branch.
