Position OverviewCalian is seeking a Junior Life Cycle Management Specialist, Junior (Level 1) to support the Technical Authority (TA) in providing ship logistics support on the East Coast for the Major Surface Combatant (MSC) 4 with Hull Outfitting and Domestic Equipment / Systems fitted in Halifax, Kingston and Victoria Class Vessels. The significant systems requiring support include, but are not limited to:Anchor windlass systemsHangar door systemsWatertight doors and hatchesNon-watertight doorsExternal and internal laddersNon watertight bulkheadsRefrigeration equipmentGalley equipmentLaundry equipmentWaste disposal equipmentWorkshop equipmentHabitability furnishingsCombat furnishingsWashroom furnishingsResponsibilitiesRecommend new equipment replacementsRecommend up-dates of the equipment databaseProduce drawing revisionsPerform on-site quality surveillance and inspectionMonitor progressReview the third-line service provider’s reports and contractual deliverablesInterpret specificationsProcess design changes, deviations, and waiversIdentify substitute itemsEvaluate equipment change proposalsLiaison with classification society personnel as required for survey supportAdvise on material and equipment selection for procurementVerification of procurement dataReview Repairable Material requestsReview Repairable Arising Control sheetsLiaison with HCM (Halifax-Class Modernization) FELEX (Frigate Life Extension) personnel to assist in the resolution of material and installation problemsAssist in processing material disposition requests Review and up-date material specificationsPrepare draft Engineering Change Proposals and carry out follow-up work, to up-date technical dataEvaluate existing and proposed equipment replacementsCollate/organize technical dataReview Unsatisfactory Condition Reports (UCR’s)Carry out shipboard surveys to validate installations and drawing revisionsQualificationsMust currently hold a valid Secret (Level II) Clearance with the Government of Canada2+ years of demonstrated experience as a Life Cycle Management Specialist2+ years of demonstrated experience in Naval Vessels Hull Outfitting and Domestic Equipment and Systems in LCMS support services fields within the last 10 years2+ years of demonstrated experience in maintenance, review, and modification of technical data related to Naval Hull systems within the last 10 years6+ months of demonstrated experience in the use of the following software and programs within the previous 5 years: Records Document Information Management System (RDIMS), Microsoft Outlook, and Microsoft Office Suite
