As a Manager within our Service Design and Delivery team, you #39;ll lead a team of front-line technical professionals who are committed to delivering digital solutions to enable government programs and citizen services. This position will be assigned to the Justice and Housing portfolio, which includes delivering and supporting IT solutions for the newly formed Housing authority as well as many government department end users. This Competition may be used to fill other vacancies as well. Primary Accountabilities As the Manager, Business Solutions, you will:

  • Manage a team of direct reports, including performance management and career development.
  • Be responsible for recruitment and retention of resources on your team.
  • Collaborate with program partners to align your team’s work with government mandates and strategic priorities.
  • Lead your team in designing, building, and supporting digital solutions for government programs.
  • Provide recommendations and technical decision-making regarding digital solutions, based on objective analysis (e.g., build or buy), available resources, and industry expertise.
  • Provide input into the sourcing, implementation, and support of vendor products, vendor management, and contract management.
  • Provide prudent management of operational and project budgets.
  • Promote a culture of trust, teamwork, and psychological safety.
  • Collaborate with professionals across government and industry to build relationships and innovate.
  • Maintain a strong focus on delivery priorities, be accountable for delivery, and swiftly respond to changing user needs.
  • Keep people informed and engaged by working in the open and sharing your experience.
  • Implement methods for continuous improvement by leveraging internet-era practices and collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to achieve business outcomes and meet user needs.
Required Skills To be successful in this position, you must have the ability to:
  • Lead, coach, and mentor a team of professionals to deliver excellent digital services to end users.
  • Build empowered teams by delegating authority and providing direction and support.
  • Develop and implement strategic plans and budgets required to deliver service excellence with new and existing digital products.
  • Analyze complex problems and determine innovative solutions to produce desired outcomes.
  • Build strong business relationships and collaborate with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Communicate and influence at senior levels, engaging with senior executives and Deputy Ministers.
  • Professional designations and certifications, such as MBA, PMP, and ITIL.
  • Skills and experience in Financial Management.
  • Skills and experience in procurement and contract negotiation.
Educationamp; Experience
  • Bachelor’s Degree or Diploma in Information Technology or a related field and 7 years of leadership experience
  • An equivalent combination of training and experience may be considered.
  • Must have direct experience in IT management and leadership.
