Job Description

Subsidiary: Miller Paving LimitedLocation: Halifax, NSAbout Us:Cumberland Paving and Contracting is part of Miller Paving Atlantic, based in New Brunswick and Nova Scotia. Cumberland Paving and Contracting provides the public and private sectors with road construction, paving, road and structure rehabilitation, engineering construction, aggregate-based materials, highway operations, and maintenance services. As a Traffic Control Signer, You Will:

  • Controls movement of vehicular traffic through construction projects through traffic control plans that meet safety regulations
  • Designs traffic routing plans, and type and location of control points with superior visibility to oncoming traffic
  • Coordinates traffic control personnel
  • Sets up traffic control in municipal and highway road construction projects
  • Coordinates schedule of traffic control set-up, take downs and switches
  • Monitors signage requirements on various job sites
  • Completes and submits daily reports and performs communications in accordance with company policy and local practices
What You #39;ll Bring:
  • Knowledge of traffic plans and legislative requirements for traffic control
  • Experience in a construction related position is an asset
  • Valid Class 5 driver’s licence
  • Frequent standing which may be required for long periods of time; frequent lifting and moving signage
  • May be required to work on all shifts: days, evenings and nights which may include rotational shifts
  • Must be able to assemble and place equipment (signage) in appropriate locations
  • Must be able to travel with the crew throughout the local area for the work duration
