Job Description

We have positions in both Halifax and Sydney please indicate on your application which location would you would prefer.The Project Coordinator, Infrastructure, will be a key part of the Build NS Healthcare Infrastructure Team, providing project coordination across the project lifecycle, from planning, procurement, selection of and negotiation with a preferred proponent, and oversight of the construction and commissioning period, and transition to the operational phase.QualificationsPost-secondary education (degree or diploma) in construction, business, engineering, architecture or contract administration with some exposure to the construction industry; graduate-level education in engineering or architecture is an asset.Strong business acumen and an understanding of dealing with project budgets, schedules, and technical requirements. Preference may be given to candidates with an understanding of P3 programs and building construction and systems, with solid understanding of the various specific P3 delivery models (e.g. Build-Finance, Design-Build-Finance, Design-Build-Finance-Maintain, etc.). Must have sound stakeholder management skills, the ability to adapt quickly and respond to a changing environment, and experience finding positive solutions to issues with clients and diverse teams of project consultants and specialists. Presentation, consultation, negotiation, influencing and consensus building skills are also desired. Experience negotiating claims, scope changes and other compliance and contractual items on projects is desirableResponsibilitiesSupport the Project Manager through the planning, design, and construction of large and complex healthcare projects delivered through Public-Private Partnerships (P3s) by assisting with the coordination of day-today project activities Help manage relationships with various groups of internal and external stakeholders to mitigate project risks and ensure that project objectives are metSupport projects through various stages of development (Pre-transaction, Request for Qualifications (RFQ) and Request for Proposal (RFP) stages), construction, commissioning and to the final transfer of responsibility to operationsAssist with the management and coordination of the project #39;s Planning Design and Compliance team #39;s development of deliverables, RFI responses, and submittal reviews.Support the development and ensure proper implementation of E-Builder throughout project lifecycleCoordinate the review of PSOS technical issues with internal project teamAssists in the development of risk analysis and contingency planningOther duties as assigned -meeting scheduling, meeting minutes, documentation control, assist financial forecasting activities and preparation of presentationsIn this role you will coordinate and provide quality checks to documents relating to contracts for the design and construction of large complex building construction projects. This includes updating purchase orders by entering change orders into Ariba, reviewing invoicing, tracking, and filing important contract documentation. You will provide administrative support to management and project managers for this group by checking change orders and ensuring invoices are in compliance with contract terms.Assist in managing projects and initiatives based on portfolio needs, including managing the agenda, planning, research, budget management, implementation, control, resource scheduling and organization of a broad range of activities.Assist senior colleagues in managing internal and external stakeholder relationships by using client systems and other established project management processes, procedures, and protocols.Perform contract management activities by following existing procedures to support others.Coordinate and prepare documentation, meeting minutes, communications, agendas, and reports for approval, while following up on pending issues.Produce accurate reports for others by collecting data from a variety of sources and inputting that data into standard formats. Support and enable others to use and benefit from existing data management systems.Perform other related activities
