  • Develop, review, and advance of a wide variety of policy approaches to guide and support government’s digital transformation and digital service delivery, including corporate administrative policies, other tools for policy guidance, legislation, briefing materials, and Submissions to Executive Council.
  • Research, develop, coach, and iterate best practices for policy making in the internet era.
  • Lead and manage policy projects from initiation to implementation, working with multidisciplinary teams, technical leads, subject matter experts, and financial and other corporate partners on ongoing and emerging priorities in a fast-paced and highly collaborative environment.
  • Contribute to department and branch planning and corporate reporting activities, information requests, and other annual planning and reporting.
  • Develop and participate in briefings and presentations and in developing recommendations to support CSDS delivering on its mandate.
Who You Areamp; What You Bring to the TableQualifications and SkillsTo be successful in this position, you have an undergraduate degree in a policy-related discipline or equivalent with experience in a fast-paced, delivery-focused environment.You possess the ability to:
  • Use strong written, verbal, and other communication skills to develop policy products, build relationships and partnerships, coach and deliver feedback in a tactful and productive way.
  • Translate complex ideas and technical topics into something everyone can understand.
  • Analyze complex problems and find creative solutions to produce desired outcomes.
  • Be curious about applying digital approaches in government’s policy environment to champion change and see real-world impacts.
  • Maintain openness to new ideas, new ways of working, and working with those who may be on different parts of their digital journeys.
Your experience should include:
  • Navigating complex systems and decision-making processes, gaining a good understanding of how government works, the role policy can play in guiding and supporting.
  • Better service delivery for Nova Scotians.
  • Past public sector policy experience to deliver policy products with teams and jointly with partners.
  • Strong written, verbal, and other communication skills and a willingness to try, learn, and iterate.
