As positions become available, applicants who meet the qualifications may be contacted for further assessment.DutiesCORCAN, as part of the Correctional Service of Canada, is responsible for the Employment and Employability Program for offenders while incarcerated in federal penitentiaries, and after they are released into the community. The Employment Coordinator position provides services and interventions to offenders, including developing partnerships with community employers and organizations and providing direct support, services and program interventions to assist them with finding employment in the community.Work environmentThe incumbent works in a correctional institution (multiple security levels) or community location providing services and interventions to offenders who are under the supervision of the Correctional Service of Canada. All incumbents must be willing to work on a regular basis within a federal correctional environment, including contact with offenders.
