With 14 locations across Canada and Western USA, we will continue expanding and strengthening our steel industry networkCascadia Metals is currently accepting resumes for a full time Operations Manager, to work out of our Hamilton/Mississauga branch. With the leadership and support of the Branch Manager, the Warehouse Operations Manager will build capabilities within their team to execute the overall warehouse and facilities strategy and achieve results for their department(s) today and tomorrow. If you are a talented and experienced Operations Manager in the Manufacturing industry, Cascadia has the right opportunity for you! *Salary Negotiable for Industry Experience*Responsibilities:

  • Maintaining a safe and healthy work environment by establishing, following, and enforcing standards and procedures and complying with legal regulations
  • Overseeing production activities and enforcing productivity, quality, and customer-service standards
  • Accomplishing warehouse human resource objectives by recruiting, selecting, orienting, training, assigning, scheduling, coaching, counseling, and disciplining employees; communicating job expectations; planning, monitoring, appraising, and reviewing job contributions; planning and reviewing compensation actions.
  • Developing system improvements by analyzing processes and implementing changes.
  • Ensuring day to day maintenance of the facility, machinery, and equipment is performed
  • Analyzing logistical requirements and problems and producing solutions
  • purchasing consumables and reviewing related invoices
Requirements:
  • 5+ years of warehouse operations management experience ideally in a distribution environment
  • 5+ years #39; experience in a fast-paced, large volume, high-intensity environment, with high focus on meeting/exceeding measurable metrics
  • 3+ years #39; experience implementing continuous improvement programs
  • Strong interpersonal skills with an understanding of diverse backgrounds and an emphasis on communication
  • This individual should accept and embrace change as an ongoing theme in our plant and be open to continuous learning
  • Solution oriented mentality and demonstrated problem solving abilities
  • Candidate must be highly organized in order to excel at this position
  • This person should take a hands-on approach to managing operations and supervising staff
  • Metal/Steel Knowledge an asset
  • Steel Slitting/CTL processing knowledge and experience an asset
