Job Description

The Supervisor, Accounting and Assurance will focus on providing high-quality accounting, assurance, and consulting services for clients.Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Prepare engagement deliverables (financial statements, letters, and communications, etc.).
  • Review, investigate, and correct accounting and assurance engagement files and financial statements.
  • Review of work in progress of assigned staff members. Maintain high-quality control when reviewing work done by other team members; provide feedback to team members.
  • Assist with technical accounting issues and act as a point of contact for audit and accounting assistance.
  • Prepare/review corporate and personal tax returns.
  • Communicate and maintain relationships with clients, Canada Revenue Agency, lawyers, and bankers.
  • Contribute to the development of new ideas and approaches to improve work processes.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, or related equivalent degree
  • Completion of a Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA) designation
  • Minimum of four years’ experience in public practice
  • Advanced accounting, auditing and tax skills;
  • Experience with CaseWare, Caseview and TaxPrep considered an asset;
  • A team player able to rally resources and work with others to meet the needs of the client;
  • Strong commitment to professional and client service excellence;
  • Strong interest in coaching and development, with a commitment to personal growth;
  • Proven ability to deliver the full cycle of project management accountabilities;
  • Superior verbal and written communication skills;
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple deadlines;
  • Ability to work flexible hours;
