Tech Lead, Products and VerificationL3HARRIS WESCAM DivisionHamilton ON, CanadaAbout L3Harris WESCAMAs a subsidiary of L3Harris Technologies and within the Integrated Mission Systems Segment, the WESCAM division develops the most advanced optical and sensor systems for global defense and military sectors, Homeland Security, Search and Rescue and Airborne law enforcement agencies. From long-range covert surveillance missions to search and rescue operations, our MX-series systems, and the mission systems solutions they are a part of, produce stabilized high-magnification electro-optical and infrared images from airborne, marine and ground based platforms, enabling our customers to see first and act first.Responsibilities· Provide technical leadership for the validation and verification of systems level functions, including requirement definitions, test scopes and approaches, testing cases development, tools and utilities, procedures and processes, for all turret products designed and integrated by L3 Harris.- This role is a hybrid position where you are expected to be onsite 50-80% of the time- Collaboration with design teams to develop new systems technologies and products for a wide variety of customer requirements.· Participate in design reviews to ensure system design integrity is achieved and customer impacts are evaluated and addressed.· Establish strategies and collaborate with other functional teams to deploy, mature, manage and maintain product and system level functions baselines.· Oversee Applied Systems #39; support to the introduction of new product generations, features and functions. Ensure the alignment of customer deliveries with product baselines for book and build programs.· Identify and mitigate risks, associated with New Product Introduction and other engineering changes, to support customer deliveries.· Provide technical leadership in the development and maintenance of regression test procedures, scripts, testing tools and utilities to ensure the effectiveness, sufficiency, and efficiency of software regression tests.· Lead the development, maintenance and expansion of automated verification tests and software testing utilities.· Establish strategy to grow and enhance the technical capability of the team. Mentor other Applied Systems designers and conduct trainings as needed.· Establish and manage knowledge base in Applied System area.· Provide guidance on troubleshooting and resolving the issues found in regression tests and reported by internal or external customers.· Provide technical support to internal and external customer. Conduct document reviews.· Support bid and proposal process and pre-sales engineering as required to develop high level technical solutions for estimating.· Participate in developing and maintaining the related engineering design practices, processes and standards.· Support E3 Excellence and Continuous Improvement initiatives.· Work with the Manager, Applied Systems, to identify risks, issues, opportunities and mitigation strategies for Applied Systems Engineering.Recommended Skills and Experiences· Track record of being a strong technical contributor across a wide range of technical problems and multiple developments.· Extensive knowledge in verification and validation methodologies and development of verification plans and procedures.· Solid understanding of systems life cycle, from the front end of business development through product end of life.· Extensive experience with the development of automated tests and software testing utilities· Ability to coordinate activities with multiple departments such as Design Engineering, Manufacturing and Programs· Ability to proactively identify and resolve problems in an effective, efficient and organized manner.· Strong leadership, planning, organizational, analytical, and decision making skills· Excellent interpersonal skills with an ability to influence and implement changes· Extensive experience interacting with internal and external customers· Ability to continuously learn and grow within a fast paced environment· Good understanding of military and commercial standardsDesired Education and Experience· Undergraduate Engineering degree or equivalent on the job experience· 9+ years #39; technical and project experience· Must be able to hold NATO Secret clearance· Experience in managing technical projects and /or teams, preferably in the aerospace industry.About L3Harris TechnologiesIn July 2019 - L3 Technologies and Harris Corp merged to become L3Harris Technologies, becoming an agile global aerospace and defense technology innovator, delivering end-to-end solutions that meet customers #39; mission-critical needs.
