Job Description

HOURS: Rotating shifts (11pm - 7am, 7am - 3pm and 3pm-11pm) and meet minimal shift requirements (4 shifts/month)Who We AreThe work of Good Shepherd is based on a fundamental belief in providing hope and restoring dignity to the most vulnerable members of our community. Our services include emergency food transitional housing and education for homeless and street-involved youth; hospice palliative care; community mental health programs; and supportive housing programs. By integrating a Harm Reduction framework at Good Shepherd, we can decrease barriers to service and better support some of our community #39;s most marginalized members.This opportunity is with our Good Shepherd - YOUTH SERVICES - Notre Dame ShelterHow You Will Make an ImpactIn this role, you will work to make a difference in the lives of Clients living at Youth Services. Services to clients include assessment, planning, crisis prevention and intervention, supportive counselling, education, advocacy, social/recreational programming, life skills teaching ie: cooking and linkages with other community services.What You #39;ll Bring to Our Team

  • Primary case management and community development skills acquired through a post-secondary education in social services such as Child and Youth Worker, with a demonstrated commitment to the mission values of availability, responsibility, adaptability, quality and dignity.
  • Must have some experience working with Youth.
  • Knowledge of and experience working in residential treatment for Children under the Ministry Guidelines are a plus.
  • CPR certification or willingness to be certified.
  • Ability to speak French and/or other languages considered an asset.
