Department InformationThe mandate of the Department of Environment and Natural Resources is to promote and support the sustainable use and development of natural resources, and to protect, conserve, and enhance the NWT environment for the social and economic benefit of all NWT residents.Job InformationThis position is in Forest Management Division Headquarters (ENR) and is located at the Hay River Airtanker Base and reports to the Airtanker Base Mixer Supervisor. The incumbent is responsible for retardant mixing, testing, and loading of wildfire retardants into aerial fire-fighting aircraft, as directed within defined contract, product specifications and limitations. The incumbent will work with a variety of airtanker aircraft including: land-based, water skimmers and various import airtankers from other Agencies.The knowledge, skills and abilities for this position are: Retardant mixing, storage and loading operations and systems as well as Airtanker base operations and administrative procedures.
