Job Description

Journeyman Plumber/GasfitterMaher’s Plumbing & Heating Ltd. is a well-established, privately owned company based in Hay River, Northwest Territories. We offer competitive wages and an independent work environment.Duties include, but are not limited to:

  • Install, repair, and maintain pipes, valves, fittings, drainage systems, and fixtures in commercial and residential structures.
  • Collaborate with general contractors, electricians, and other construction professionals.
  • Follow building plans and blueprints.
  • Respond to, diagnose, and resolve plumbing & heating emergencies.
  • Perform routine inspections of heating, plumbing, and drainage systems.
  • Light construction, carpentry, painting, plastering, flooring, ceiling, and electrical work as required.
  • Prepare bids, budgets, and cost estimates.
  • Keep accurate records of time spent working, description of work performed, and materials used.
Qualifications and Skills:
  • Knowledge of building codes, safety regulations, and safety practices.
  • Ability to read and follow blueprints and rough drawings.
  • Familiarity with PVC, CPVC, PEX, cast iron, and copper.
  • Effective oral communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to complete projects unsupervised and unassisted.
  • Ability to perform multiple tasks simultaneously & independently.
  • Proficiency in basic mathematics and conversion of measurements.
  • Ability to use computer software. (Example: Jobber – scheduling software)
Education and Experience Requirements:
  • Red Seal – Plumber/Gasfitter
  • Priority will be given to applicants who also have an OBM certification.
  • Apprentices may be considered.
  • Valid Class 5 Driver’s License.
  • Criminal Records Check
Job Type: Full-timeSalary: From $40.00 per hourSchedule:
  • Monday to Friday
  • Overtime

Experience:
  • plumbing: 2 years (preferred)
