Executive ChefWhite Point Beach Resort is seeking a dynamic and creative individual to fill the role of Executive Chef.Available immediately, this is a full-time, year-round salaried position.Salary will be commensurate with experience and qualifications.In this position, you will oversee, mentor, and be a part of a team of over 20 cooks, kitchen helpers and stewards. You will have sole responsibility in crafting menus and ensuring the delivery and creation of the Food Service Vision. From a busy dining room, to banquets, beach front dinners and BBQs, White Point will provide you with the opportunity to endlessly explore your creativity. You will work to foster an atmosphere of teamwork and cooperation.The perfect candidate for this job is responsible, hard-working, able to work independently, and dedicated to quality, consistency and creativity and have the ability to make the culinary offerings at White Point the best of any Resort in Eastern Canada. Five or more years of professional experience with a minimum of three years in a senior supervisory role in a busy foodservice operation or hotel is required. Only candidates who are legally entitled to work in in Canada will be considered.This is a Senior Management position in a business that is a cornerstone for the tourism industry in Nova Scotia. If you are passionate about hospitality, culinary experiences, and a guest driven business model, we would love to have you as a member of our team.The Liverpool area provides opportunities for affordable housing, great schools, a wonderful family environment, spectacular beaches (one only 20 feet away) and a chance to enjoy a more relaxed pace of life.Qualifications & Experience· First and foremost, a passion for food, hospitality, and the ability to be a positive influence, and member of your culinary team.· Previous culinary leadership experience in a high volume establishment.· Excellent high volume culinary production skills.· Trade Certification/ Red Seal or equivalent· The ability to provide consistent culinary and leadership direction.· Experience in budgeting, food cost and labour management· Experience in procurement and contract negotiations· Able to foster relationships with key sources, particularly local farmers and suppliers· Fluent in English (written and spoken)· Culinary Training from a recognized institution· Working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook and Word)· Proven Leadership Skills - people development and motivation, technical culinary skills training, policy and procedure management, time management, problem solving/decision making· Excellent Interpersonal Skills - Self-motivated/driven, positive/high energy, excellent written and verbal communication skills, administration skills, adaptability/flexibility, dependability.· Proven ability to achieve short and long-term business goalsThis position includes a comprehensive benefit package and uniform allowance.
