Ultimately, the ATIPP/Records Management Coordinator works to enhance transparency and accountability by ensuring that the Department adheres to document retention policies, responds to information requests from the public in a timely fashion, and maintains security and confidentiality at all times. Additionally, the ATIPP/Records Management Coordinator will assist project managers by providing advice on privacy matters for new department projects (such as privacy impact assessments) and will support the Department through participation in relevant Committees.The ATIPP/Records Management Coordinator functions as the Department’s knowledge expert on ATIPP and records management legislation, policy, regulations, directives, and procedures. In addition, the ATIPP/Records Management Coordinator serves as the Department’s point of contact on matters relating to ATIPP requests and records management concerns. The incumbent will analyze pertinent documents as well as prioritize the Department’s ATIPP and records management needs and developing a critical path (in consultation with the Manager and Director, Policy and Planning) for all priority needs. Finally, the ATIPP/Records Management Coordinator will develop procedures to guide departmental staff on matters related to their responses to ATIPP requests, information management and retention, communication policies, approaches, and standards.The incumbent will demonstrate experience producing strategic communication (e.g., briefing notes, memos, etc.) for distribution to varying audiences and to inform decision-making activities. The ideal candidate will have proven experience working in a policy and regulatory based environment resulting in demonstrated knowledge of policy frameworks, proven success carrying-out a range of policy-based tasks that are both departmental and inter-departmental facing.The knowledge, skills, and abilities required to successfully respond to the requirements of this position would normally be acquired through a diploma in public administration or a related discipline and two (2) years of experience working in a policy or regulatory compliance environment, along with one (1) year experience processing ATIPP requests.The Official Languages of Nunavut are Inuktut, English and French. Knowledge of Inuit communities, culture, land, Inuit Qaujimajatuqangit, Inuktut and experience working in a northern cross-cultural environment are also considered assets. Experience designing or implementing record management system and protocols is considered an asset.Acceptable combinations of education and experience may be considered for this position.
