Mission for this Position:About UsAt Baffinland, we work and live beyond the Arctic Circle, mining iron ore at our Mary River Property, located in the Qikiqtani Region of Nunavut on Baffin Island; one of the world’s most captivating and seldom seen destinations. We are looking for people ready to share, build, and grow with our company.Reporting to the Vice President of Community and Strategic Development, the Corporate Services Manager will manage the Northern Headquarters in Iqaluit and provide oversight and support for the community offices in Pond Inlet, Sanirajak, Igloolik, Clyde River and Arctic Bay. The Manager will provide administrative and financial support for the Community and Strategic Development (CSD) as well as northern travel and logistical support for CSD and, on occasion, for other departments.Main Accountabilities:

  • Provide administrative support for the CSD team
  • Develop and manage the VPs schedule on a daily basis, coordinate travel arrangements, schedule meetings, and book conference calls
  • Handle highly sensitive and confidential matters relating to the daily activity of the department
  • Capable of developing an understanding of the organization and its business activities
  • Maintain departmental daily operational workflow
  • Create purchase order requisitions, code and process invoices, process expense reports
  • Set up and maintain filing system and file documents as required
  • Assist with preparation of weekly/monthly reports
  • Provide administrative assistance to managers and their staff within the Sustainable Development Team
  • Coordinate team events as required
  • Be the primary point of contact for company guests and external parties.
  • Manage the Northern Affairs Administrative Assistant.
  • Other duties as assigned
Main Qualifications:
  • College Diploma required
  • From 3-5 years of relevant experience
  • Fluency in English and Inuktitut required, read and write Syllabics
  • Extensive knowledge of the Inuit culture and Inuit communities required, and enrolled under the Nunavut Agreement
  • Working knowledge of MS Office products required
  • Experience with SAP preferred
