Duties and ResponsibilitiesInterested candidates should be able to perform the following duties and responsibilities:
  • Provide oversight to ramp and warehouse operations to ensure operations are performed in accordance with regulatory, Company and Customer requirements;
  • Provide oversight for all Cargo attendants, agents and Coordinators
  • Responsible to ensure the Cargo team is compliant with training, policies, and procedures (e.g. safety, regulatory trainings, departmental, equipment, security, Dangerous Goods handling, Dangerous Goods Acceptance, Skyline);
  • Responsible to oversee and assist the day to day freight inventory, Daily SLA, Priority shipment, inventory Control and bin checks and the NND paperwork completion;
  • Responsible to ensure the Cargo team completes all equipment inspections, daily maintenance (fueling, oil levels, etc.) and report all unserviceable equipment to the GSE team;
  • Responsible to maintain organization and cleanliness in the warehouses and all surrounding areas where cargo and equipment is stored;
  • Provide leadership and direction during regular and irregular operations to the employees;
  • Coordinate with other departments to ensure customer satisfaction and on time performance;
  • Coordinate with customers to ensure customer satisfaction and on time performance;
  • Provides support functions, including, but not limited to, training, assignments, uniform adherence and supervise the team with the flow of cargo concerns and queries;
  • Responsible to review all daily sales reports and high value shipments;
  • Provide support and assistance for flight manifesting and load planning;
  • Assist with initial and recurrent training programs and scheduling;
  • Support the implementation of SOPs, processes, safety initiatives, employee communications;
  • Support attendance management and participate as required in employee performance management;
  • Support the Manager to complete internal and third party audits;
  • Other duties as assigned.
Skills and QualificationsInclude, but not limited to, the following minimum skills and qualifications:
  • High School diploma or equivalent related work experience;
  • Two (2) years of previous experience;
  • Fully proficient Computer Skills (MS Office);
  • Extensive operating knowledge of Skyline;
  • Extensive knowledge of SLA, inventory Control, bin checks, AWB and shipment priorities;
  • Operational experience in Cargo and/or Ramp operations is required;
  • Must be able to complete the requirements for certification in Dangerous Goods handling and Dangerous Goods Acceptance;
  • Commitment to excellent internal and external customer service;
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines;
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (written and spoken);
  • Excellent leadership skills with the ability to coach and motivate others;
  • Experience supervising in a unionized environment (preferred);
  • Must be able to obtain and retain a D/A level Airport Pass;
  • Valid Drivers license is required;
  • Ability to obtain and retain an Airport Restricted Identity Card in accordance with the Airport Restricted Area Access Clearance Program regulated by Transport Canada;
