Job Description

Job Title: Marketing and Engagement ManagerStart-Date: ASAPLocation: Lindsay, ON or Iqaluit, Nunavut (remote work negotiable) Reports to: Chief Operations OfficerDepartment: OperationsStarting Salary: $62,500 (Southern Canada) or $85,000 in NunavutClosing date: April 11, 2022Success in this role looks like

  • Our Marketing and Engagement Lead can both manage projects strategically and pull up their sleeves and be hands on to get things done.
ResponsibilitiesStrategy and organizational support
  • Build an awareness and understanding within relevant communities about the work we do and why we’re unique in STEAM learning.
  • Work collaboratively across teams to develop marketing and outreach opportunities.
  • Oversee and develop marketing and engagement strategies in support of the organization’s overall mission
  • Assist in building and executing strategic marketing initiatives for all projects including the Pinnguaq publication Root & STEM .
Content development and coordination
  • Develop and post social media and other content for the organization.
  • Develop SEO plans and content that aims to grow our online audience.
Partnerships and engagement
  • Build relationships with partners including communities, businesses and media and support the growth of the Pinnguaq Partnership Network.
  • Identify and coordinate engagement in external events (conventions, conferences and speaking engagements, etc.) that allow us to meaningfully extend our reach in the communities we serve.
Research and coordination
  • Discover and coordinate new digital marketing opportunities and make continuous improvements to existing digital marketing workflows.
  • Depending on projects this position may include the management of a small team (i.e. managing a social media officer)
Qualifications
  • Equivalent experience or a degree in Communications, Marketing, Journalism, Public Relations and demonstration of skills.
  • 3+ years experience in a communications or marketing role.
  • Previous experience in brand management, content development, media relations, digital marketing, engagement and outreach.
  • Knowledge, or experience in K- 12 education, Northern, rural and remote communities is an asset.
  • An equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered.
Skills and Abilities
  • Experience with and understanding of developing marketing strategies and plans.
  • Skill and tact in working across teams on interconnected and standalone projects, including sense of aesthetics and a love for great copy and clear communication.
  • Sophisticated and creative written and oral communications skills.
  • Up-to-date with the latest trends and best practices in online marketing and measurement.
  • Proficiency in social media platforms (Twitter, Facebook, LinkedIn, Instagram), website management platforms (WordPress), analytics (Google/Social), optimizing Google Adwords campaigns, etc.
  • Outstanding organizational, analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent collaboration, interpersonal, problem solving and communication skills
  • Project-management skills including managing production, experience executing communications and marketing initiatives
  • Bilingual an asset but not required (Inuktitut, Anishinaabemowin, Cree and/or French as a second language would be beneficial)
