Job Description

The successful applicant will enjoy a competitive salary, medical and dental benefits, a defined benefit pension plan, relocation privileges, and opportunities for training and career advancement.Based in Iqaluit, NU, and reporting to the Manager, Solutions Delivery, you will be responsible for the installation, testing and administration of all related data and voice telecommunication hardware, software and protocols within the Solutions Delivery network environment. This will include Wide Area Network (WAN), Metropolitan Area Network (MAN) and Local Area Network (LAN) voice, wireless, switching, routing and related protocols.As a Network Analyst, you will ensure the stable operation of the GN’s Information Communication Technology hardware and software assets within the Solutions Delivery network environment.QUALIFICATIONSYour profile as a qualified Network Analyst will include the following highlights:

  • A recognized three (3)-year diploma in Computer Sciences, Information Technology or a related engineering program.
  • Five (5) years of recent, progressive experience in a large (over 750 devices) complex enterprise-wide WAN/MAN/LAN routing/switching network with diverse solutions from multiple vendors.
  • Five (5) years of demonstrated experience in the design, installation, configuration and support of network routing/switching equipment and their related protocols.
  • Current vendor certifications such as Cisco, Mitel, F5, Juniper Networks and Riverbeds.
  • Acceptable combinations of education and experience may be considered for this position. We encourage you to apply if you have equivalent years of education and/or experience equal to the education and experience requirements listed above.
ASSETS:
  • Proven experience in project and contract administration within an enterprise-level IM/ICT environment.
  • Exposure to satellite network communications.
  • Fluency in Inuktitut, one of Nunavut’s official languages (i.e., Inuktut, English and French).
  • Knowledge of the Inuit communities, culture and land, Inuit Qaujimajatuqangit, and Inuktut.
  • Experience working in a northern cross-cultural environment.

  • 4 hour shift
