The Security Analyst will be responsible for developing and assisting in the distribution of Government of Nunavut security policies and guidelines. The Security Analyst will remain informed on trends and issues within the security industry, including current and emerging technologies. The Security Analyst will be responsible for the design, architecture, testing, optimization and administration of security hardware and software solutions within the solution delivery network environment.The knowledge, skills, and abilities required for this job are usually obtained through a recognized diploma in computer sciences, information technology or related engineering program. Seven (7) years of recent experience in a large (over 2000 users’ network) complex enterprise wide networks with diverse solutions from multiple vendors. Five (5) years of progressive experience in physical and virtual desktop hardware, operating systems, software and applications support in a medium to large enterprise or Government network environment is also required. Hands-on experience with devices such as switches and routers is required. Current vendor certifications such as GIAC (security essentials and leadership certifications), ISACA, SCCP, CISSP, ISSAP, MCSE Security is also required. Proven experience in project and contract administration within an enterprise level IM/IT environment is an asset.This is a Position of Trust and a satisfactory Criminal Record Check is required.The Official Languages of Nunavut are Inuktut, English and French.
