These systems will include physical and virtual server hardware/operating systems, messaging systems, internet proxy systems, terminal services and other network operation applications and programs. The Systems Analyst will ensure the stable operation of the Government of Nunavut Information Technology assets within the Solutions Delivery systems environment. The incumbent will regularly assist with the installation, configuration, optimization, testing and administration of Information Communication Technology infrastructure, architecture, development and deployment specifically in the areas of network servers, Storage Area Networks and/or Network Attached Storage, desktop hardware, remote access devices, physical cabling systems and assist in network-based security technologies.The knowledge, skills, and abilities required for this job are usually obtained through a recognized Diploma in Computer Sciences, Information Technology or related engineering program along with seven (7) years of recent experience in a large (over 2000 users’ network) complex enterprise wide networks with diverse solutions from multiple vendors. Five (5) years of progressive experience in physical and virtual desktop hardware, operating systems, software and applications support in a medium to large enterprise or Government network environment is also required. Current vendor certifications such as Microsoft, Novell, Symantec, Dell, F5 and EMC is required. Proven experience in project and contract administration within an enterprise level IM/ICT environment is an asset. Exposure to satellite network communications is an asset. This is a Position of Trust and a satisfactory Criminal Record Check is required.The Official Languages of Nunavut are Inuktut, English and French.
