If that resonates, and you’re someone with integrity, commitment, and a strong drive to deliver great products, we’d love to hear from you.Repair TechnicianAs a Repair Technician you will work with SMT component replacement including micro-components, BGA’s, connectors both SMT and SMT/Thru hole combinations, performing lifted/damaged pad repairs and track cuts, thru-hole component removal and insertion. Your knowledge of various tools – hot air guns, pre-heaters and traditional soldering/de-soldering tools and tips is imperative in this role as is your familiarity of Air Vac, which is used for removing and replacing micro-components, BGA’s, Flip Chips and connectorsWho you report to:Production, ManagerWhat we offerRoss offers competitive salaries and comprehensive health plans, as well as several perks to help you perform at your best.Some of these perks include flexible hours, generous paid time off, fitness/wellness allowance, employee share ownership program, development support and a ton of fun social activities and events!Best of all, you will be part of the Ross Video family, and we’ve got a pretty energizing environment here.What the job is all aboutPossessing the necessary equipment knowledge and familiarity with stencil and paste processes, creating profiles using solder sample boards and thermo couples, reballing BGA’s and prepping boards for repair, which includes: Applying heat resistant materials to parts on the board for protection, which include Kapton tape, heat blankets, pink shield. Dismantling fully/partially assembled boards and baking boards, logging times in preparation for rework. Must have a Solid understanding of IPC-610 quality standards and be able to receive and interpret direction from technical staff. Responsible for prioritizing daily work based on production needs, RMA’s and return to customer defects. Able to make choices, based on board damage or difficulty of task, on whether or not a defect is repairable or scrap. Multi-tasking is always necessary as technician’s commonly require small jobs to be complete in order to do their daily tasks, able to occasionally work with engineers to perform modifications to pcba’s – this may include mod wires, track cuts or any unconventional methods of placing components. Creativity is necessary when working with densely populated boards to get components on and off.Who you areMust understand the X-Ray machine in order to deduce whether or not the solder quality adheres to IPC Standards. Able to accurately interpret and enter defect information within MES. Works closely with SMT and Mechanical Support staff and maintain ESD practices. Possess a mechanical aptitude and have basic computer skill. You are able to work independently or as part of a team and capable of following procedures and work logically, with a solid attention to detail and an aptitude for learningBonus points if you have the following:

  • High School Diploma
  • IPC-7711B/7721B Rework, Modification and Repair of Electronic Assemblies
  • Previous experience within a manufacturing environment
  • 2-3 years soldering experience
