Jansen will add diversity and a Canadian presence to BHP’s global portfolio. Jansen’s large resource endowment provides the opportunity to develop it in stages, with anticipated initial capacity of > 4 Mtpa. The BHP Board has recently sanctioned Jansen Project (Stage 1), with a US $5.7 billion investment. The project is now entering the construction phase, with the first potash expected in 2027.PurposeReporting to the Head of Production, Operational Readiness, the Manager Maintenance Execution provides leadership to a team or teams focused on the readiness scope required to deliver the onsite maintenance execution activities (e.g. maintaining plant, equipment, processes and/or infrastructure) specific for underground operations.About the RoleIn this role, you will:

  • Lead the team to develop the Maintenance Execution program for the Jansen Operation including:
    • Team culture, routines to maximize time in field
    • Managing of performance through balancing capacity and visualizing performance
    • Managing risks and implementing and monitoring controls owned
    • Development of processes and digital work instructions
    • Managing program of improvements to project and operations value driver
  • Recruit the future maintenance execution team to align with BHP Charter of values, code of conduct, and Operating System
  • Manage the Operations Readiness program for the scope including:
    • Regular performance and progress monitoring including reporting
    • Scope change management including improvement program
    • Project risk management and assurance management including execution reviews and audits
  • Manage the integration with project construction, commissioning, and contract teams while executing maintenance scopes of work on permanent Jansen assets to align on schedule priorities and manage improvements and risks to project value.
  • Collaborate and align resources with peer operations readiness teams including: Maintenance Strategy & Planning, Logistics, Integrated Operations, and Production.
  • Strive to achieve 100% safety, 100% customer value and 0% waste
Work LocationThis role will be based at the Jansen Mine Site located in Leroy, SK.About You
  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering or trade certificate or equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered
  • Demonstrated experience in leading an effective maintenance team
  • Exposure to recruiting and onboarding a team of maintenance supervisors and trades
  • Aptitude for building and maintaining strong relationships within and outside of the team
  • Exceptional leadership capabilities with the ability to lead and influence a focused, engaged and high-performing team
  • Creates an open and safe environment for team members to collaborate, share feedback and learn from one another
  • Proven track record in effective safety management
