About BHPAt BHP we support our people to grow, learn, develop their skills and reach their potential. With a global portfolio of operations, we offer a diverse and inclusive environment with extraordinary career opportunities. Our strategy is to focus on creating a safe work environment where our employees feel strongly connected to our values and objectives, and where the capability of our people is key to our success. Come and be a part of this success.About PotashBHP’s Jansen Potash Project located approximately 140 km east of Saskatoon, Saskatchewan is BHP’s first and most advanced potash project. Jansen will add diversity and a Canadian presence to BHP’s global portfolio. Jansen’s large resource endowment provides the opportunity to develop it in stages, with anticipated initial capacity of 4.35 Mtpa. The BHP Board has recently sanctioned Jansen Project (Stage 1), with a US $5.7 billion investment. The project is now entering the construction phase, with the first potash expected in 2027.The Jansen project has opted to adopt an integrated project team (IPT) delivery model to execute the mining scope. As the mining scope is on the critical path, an IPT model supports the sequential nature of mining tasks while ensuring seamless interfaces with the rest of the Jansen project. Through an IPT, shared accountability between BHP and HBJV is fostered, trusting that the best person is selected for each role as the team works towards safely delivering the mining scope on time, on budget, and with high quality. This team will strive for effective work planning, rapid and empowered decision-making, and continuous improvement through a joint construction and operational mindset. Through an IPT, BHP and HBJV leadership hope to expose the team to new perspectives, ways of working, and long-term career progression opportunities.PurposeThe Superintendent Mining - Health Safety Environment is the single point of accountability for developing and executing health and safety plans for the Mining IPT under the Jansen HSE (JHSE) management system. They will work closely with contractors to evaluate practices, procedures, and facilities to assess risk and adherence to the requirements and monitor compliance with safety regulations, JHSE management system and BHP organizational requirements. They will be responsible for overseeing and managing the Mining IPT team which includes conflict resolution, performance management, hazard ID & control methods, auditing and inspection cycles, incident investigation, leadership engagement, hazardous work permitting, emergency response preparedness and response capabilities, and career development aspirations. They will maintain site statistics and records (training, incidents, inspections, etc.) and evaluate progress by preparing detailed reports to the Mining IPT.The contract scope value for this section is $1.4Billion.About the RoleIn this role, you will:
