You will come across thousands of guests a day from all over the world, so being up to date on all Pursuit products, discounts and promotions is key. Attention to detail and effective communication skills are a must, but a passion for making a difference for each guest is the most important aspect of this position. This position includes indoor and outdoor components, meaning that your working week will vary.This is a multi-faceted position and can include any, or all, of the following:Providing guests with a warm welcome prior to entering the Glacier Discovery Centre (GDC)Providing guests with a questionnaire prior to entry, and if applicable, taking guests temperatures with an infrared thermometerDenying entry to guests that exhibit beyond flu like symptomsEducating guests on the Pursuit Attractions and guiding them through the purchasing processProviding guests information on the local areaAssisting with tour group check-in, and coordinating with dispatch for logistical changes to ordersTicket validation as guests begin the Columbia Icefield Adventure and SkywalkLoading & coordinating guests and tour groups on/off Coaches and/or Ice ExplorersGuest SurveyingAssisting with parking and directing flow of traffic within the parking lots.Maintaining cleanliness of guest areas, and cleaning of high touchpoint areas during entire duration of shift (IE. Door handles, railings, etc.)Operate the point of sale system with accuracy and efficiency, the responsible handling of cash, credit cards, and cash out formsCommunicate with co-workers and management, forward observations and comments in a timely fashionUphold the high standard of environmental stewardship expected for all employeesWhat skills and experience do you need for this job:Organization and time management skills are a must, but a passion for making a difference for each guest and employee is the most important aspect of this position!Must get excited at the idea of living and working in a remote (yet very social) environmentPrevious guest service and cash handling experience an assetGuest service-oriented mindset and a passion for delivering memorable experiencesAbility to think on the fly and outside the box to solve problems with a positive attitudeSecond language is an assetMature, energetic, dependable and self-motivatedEnjoy working with a team in a busy, fast-paced environmentMust enjoy working outdoors, even in challenging mountain weather conditionsComfortable working on your feet for extended periods of time in both an indoor and outdoor environment.
