Job Description

What will be your daily pursuit:Working in coordination with other departments and outside agencies to ensure safety of guests, staff, and visitors within Pursuit’s Columbia Icefield operationsWhat perks can you expect:

What will you do in this job:
  • Act as the designated responder on site to any and all emergencies
  • Conducting regular patrols of property and conducting safety/fire inspections, ensuring follow up as required
  • Conduct investigations regarding thefts, disturbances, and complete daily reports for management
  • Participate in fire training sessions as a member of the first response team, and liaise with local emergency services as required
  • As an active participant in the workplace health and safety committee, you will work to follow up on identified items and drive safety throughout the operations
  • Provide first aid assistance to staff and guests that are injured at or near our operations as well as oversee the first aid program/equipment at the facilities
  • Act as the prime investigator/report writer for guest and staff injuries and undertake any necessary follow up
What skills and experience do you need for this job:
  • Possess valid advanced First Aid/CPR training
  • Previous experience as a medic, first responder or Paramedic an asset
  • Demonstrate previous security / site safety experience or training, with previous fire training, OH&S experience or training
  • Calm under pressure, and demonstrate assertiveness, honesty, and the ability to effectively communicate with all levels of staff, management, and guests
  • This position reports to the Operations Manager, with dotted line responsibilities to the company Health and Safety Manager
  • Requires the ability to complete reports that will meet the expectations of the Worker’s Compensation Board as well as our insurance providers
  • Training and guidance will be provided on internal reporting systems, but familiarity with computer systems and strong language skills will be needed
