What will be your daily pursuit:Working in coordination with other departments and outside agencies to ensure safety of guests, staff, and visitors within Pursuit’s Columbia Icefield operationsWhat perks can you expect:Work in a dynamic, culturally diverse team from around the globeSeasonal work experience in an iconic, unforgettable, and inspiring locationFull-time work of 35+ hours weekly across the summer seasonFast-paced and active position – get your step counter ready!Excellent options for discounted meals and lodging, including further discounts for returning team members at certain locationsThe chance to work in an inclusive culture and make life-long friendsOpportunities for career growth or future work at other Pursuit locationsAccess to one of the world’s most beautiful and iconic National ParksWhat will you do in this job:Act as the designated responder on site to any and all emergenciesConducting regular patrols of property and conducting safety/fire inspections, ensuring follow up as requiredConduct investigations regarding thefts, disturbances, and complete daily reports for managementParticipate in fire training sessions as a member of the first response team, and liaise with local emergency services as requiredAs an active participant in the workplace health and safety committee, you will work to follow up on identified items and drive safety throughout the operationsProvide first aid assistance to staff and guests that are injured at or near our operations as well as oversee the first aid program/equipment at the facilitiesAct as the prime investigator/report writer for guest and staff injuries and undertake any necessary follow upWhat skills and experience do you need for this job:Possess valid advanced First Aid/CPR trainingPrevious experience as a medic, first responder or Paramedic an assetDemonstrate previous security / site safety experience or training, with previous fire training, OH&S experience or trainingCalm under pressure, and demonstrate assertiveness, honesty, and the ability to effectively communicate with all levels of staff, management, and guestsThis position reports to the Operations Manager, with dotted line responsibilities to the company Health and Safety ManagerRequires the ability to complete reports that will meet the expectations of the Worker’s Compensation Board as well as our insurance providersTraining and guidance will be provided on internal reporting systems, but familiarity with computer systems and strong language skills will be neededWhat will your work environment be like:This fun, summer job starts immediately until October 17, 2021Beautiful.
