What will be your daily pursuit:Provide value-added guest experience to Lodge and Lounge guestsWhat perks can you expect:Work in a dynamic, culturally diverse team from around the globeSeasonal work experience in an iconic, unforgettable, and inspiring locationFast-paced and active position – get your step counter ready!The chance to work in an inclusive culture and make life-long friendsOpportunities for career growth or future work at other Pursuit locationsAccess to one of the world’s most beautiful and iconic National ParksWhat will you do in this job:You will work within the team of other hotel and Columbia Icefield staff to personalize the guest experience at the Glacier View Lodge (GVL)Night audit shifts provide nighttime supervision and guest service at the GVL Front Desk between 11pm and 7amFront Desk Agent dutiesPerforms the daily cash control duties relating to the GVLEducating guests on Pursuit attractions and guiding them through the purchasing processProvide a professional, friendly and efficient check-in and check-out processAnswering and directing Columbia Icefield and GVL phone calls and emailsCoordinating efforts to accommodate guest requestsKnowledge of Maestro, Expedia, Booking.comProviding guests information on the Pursuit Attractions and local areaMaintaining cleanliness of GVL LobbyMaintaining inventory of GVL office suppliesMaintaining cleanliness of guest areasOperate the point of sale system with accuracy and efficiency, the responsible handling of cash, credit cards, and cash out formsCommunicate with co-workers and management, forward observations and comments in a timely manner.What skills and experience do you need for this job:Enjoy working autonomously and independentlyOrganization and time management skills are a must, but a passion for making a difference for each guest and employee is the most important aspect of this position!Excited by the idea of living and working in a remote (yet very social) environmentPrevious cash handling, hotel front desk, hotel night auditing experience, assetsGuest service-oriented mindset and enjoys working in a team environmentFriendly, approachable, interactive natureAbility to think outside the box with quick, thoughtful judgement and a positive attitudeAble to perform assigned duties with a high level of attention to detail, speed, consistency, follow through and under minimal supervisionAble to lift 50 pounds (suitcases, laundry bags and mail)Guest service-oriented mindset and a passion for delivering memorable experiencesAbility to think on the fly and outside the box to solve problems with a positive attitudeAlberta Class 5 License (with interest in upgrading to an Alberta Class 4 License), an assetSpeaks second language, an assetEnjoy working with a team in a busy, fast-paced environmentStandard First-Aid or higher an assetExcited at the idea of living and working in a remote (yet very social) environmentExceptional guest-service skills and a friendly, approachable, interactive natureCash handling and previous Front Desk experience in a hotel preferredGuest service-oriented mindset and highly attentive to detailAbility to think outside the box with quick, thoughtful judgement and a positive attitudeSeeking mature, energetic, dependable candidate that is self-motivated with little supervisionFirst Aid Certification and Class 5 driver’s license would both be considered assetsVery important: must be flexible to work evening or night shifts as requiredMeets the Pursuit grooming policies and standardsWhat will your work environment be like:This fun, summer job runs to October 13, 2021Beautiful.
