GROUP SALES MANAGERPOSITION SUMMARYThe Group Sales Manager at Jasper Inn & Suites is responsible for sales operations including reserving tour and leisure groups, meetings, and conferences, coordinating weddings and general administrative functions, while providing exceptional customer service to guests and clients of the hotel. Additionally, the Group Sales Manager will increase corporate and leisure client base by establishing trust and rapport with clients to generate and boost revenue for the hotel. This position requires excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, along with superior customer service skills and the ability to understand the guests needs and ideas. The ability to prioritize, multi-task, and be organized are also necessary.POSITION OBJECTIVE➢ To ensure the proficient operation of the Group Sales Department➢ To ensure that all guest facing spaces are pristine and presentable at all times➢ To assist the General Manager and Marketing team in the success of the property’s sales strategy➢ To make certain that all Guests enjoy exceptionally unique experience➢ To collaboratively support in the creation of Jasper Inn & Suites Imitable customer serviceRESPONSIBILITIESResponsibilities and duties for this position shall include, but not limited to the following areas and activities. At management discretion, direction may be given for tasks outside the scope of work described.➢ Manage all tour group, FIT and individual group contracts. Ensure group blocks are held in Opera; review group needs and special requests, etc➢ Set up and maintain all group reservations and billing from contract signing through group departure.➢ Monitor upcoming contract groups to ensure rooming lists, billing information and any changes are received by due dates.➢ Set up all group routing and special billing instructions; review final group bills to ensure accuracy; make necessary changes in order to provide correct final bill.➢ Provide group forecasts to other departments on a regular basis.➢ Directly assist other departments when needed for function set up.➢ Coordinate set-up and catering for banquet and conference bookings➢ Liaise with function contact regarding numbers and changes.➢ Communicate with other departments regarding functions.➢ Attend travel trade shows, to meet with current and new clients, to promote Jasper Inn & Suites, to ensure new and repeat business.➢ Adhere to all environmental policies and programs as required➢ Other duties as assignedCOMPETATANCIES➢ Business acumen and positive mindset➢ Communication/logistics management➢ Organizational effectiveness➢ Results oriented relationship builder➢ Independent but collaborative when necessaryCHARACTERISTICS➢ High energy, passionate and resilient➢ Game changer/high impact team player/unfazed by change or adversity➢ Humble and good sense of humour➢ Executive maturity, professionalism, and presence➢ Smart, courageous, leaderREQUIREMENTS➢ 2-5 years’ previous experience in a similar role within the hospitality or resort/hotel industry➢ Previous leadership experience in hotel operations➢ Must possess excellent customer service skills➢ Must be computer literate. Preferred candidate will have previous experience with housekeeping software AND Microsoft Word and Excel➢ Strong verbal and written communication skills➢ Detail-oriented and works with a high degree of accuracy➢ Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment➢ Must be extremely responsible with integrity and ability to maintain confidentiality and discretionWORKING CONDITIONS➢ Physical Demands - The incumbent will spend long hours sitting and using office equipment and computers. There will also be some lifting of supplies and materials from time to time.➢ Environmental Conditions - The incumbent will have to manage several tasks at one time and will be interrupted frequently to meet the needs and requests of clients. The environment will be busy, sometimes noisy, and the incumbent will need advanced organizational, time and stress management skills to complete the required tasks.➢ Sensory Demands - These include use of the computer, which may cause eyestrain or occasional headaches. The office may be noisy and busy, making it difficult to concentrate.➢ Mental Demands - The incumbent will deal with a stressful environment as some of the customers may be frustrated and require immediate services.➢ Must be able to work flexible hours including evenings, weekends, and holidaysWHO WE ARE:We are a family of independent hotels.
