Due the seasonal nature of destination hotels, this role will have capacity to take on special projects during the winter months (October-April) to maintain consistent full-time hours. These other duties include the execution of seasonal events and other projects as required; these projects add variety to this important role and serve as diverse learning opportunities. The ideal candidate for this role has excellent organization skills, attention to detail, tech competency and is comfortable with working in a confidential environment, engaging with hotel guests, and supporting the greater team.Collection and reconciliation of cash depositsVerify and balance all daily credit card depositsEnsure that prescribed security measures are adhered to while handling company fundsCalculate and keep record of cash overages / shortagesMaintain tracking for all miscellaneous check depositsProcess cash / coin replenishment requestsMaintain all petty cash balances, completing monthly reconciliations and journal entries as neededProcess and track server due backs and tip outsAssist in preparing daily audit packs and close out processesPrepare reporting for monthly cash on hand reconciliationsEscalate cash variances, discrepancies, or other concerns when appropriateScanning and filing internal documentsPlanning and execution of season events in the winter months (October – April)Other responsibilities and special projects as assignedWhat skills and experience do you need for this job:Grade 12 Diploma combined with previous accounting or front desk experience an assetMust have valid driver’s license and clean driving abstractWorking knowledge of various computer software, including word processing, spreadsheet, and database programsExcellent organizational skills and attention to detailEnjoy working as part of a teamAble to work in a confidential environmentComfortable taking direction and work with minimum supervisionCRITICAL SKILLS:Strong “can-do,” attitude with willingness to be flexible and adaptableAbility to make decisions, solve problems and exercise good judgmentStrong commitment to building positive working relationshipsWillingness to work with a geographically dispersed team in a seasonal environmentResourceful, with a curiosity to solve problems and create new solutionsAbility to organize and prioritize multiple tasks in a fast-paced environmentSense of urgency to complete job duties accurately and in a timely mannerSense of humor and ability to ‘let things roll’ when the unexpected happensSolid written and verbal communication skillsHospitality and service-focused mindset including the need to work successfully with both internal and external partnersStrong sense of prioritization and focus to complete tasksWhat will your work environment be like:Beautiful.
