Job Description

What will you do in this job:The guest services department principally assists all guests by providing information on Maligne Lake and Pursuit services and amenities, and by promoting and selling our related products and services. The guest services supervisor provides direction, leadership and daily support to the guest services team, ensuring that team members deliver a positive and memorable hospitality experience.Guest supervisor duties also include dispatching: operational communications/responding to and adapting to emergencies and equipment failures and coordination of the daily tour schedule..This is a multi-faceted position and can include any, or all, of the following:
  • Support, train, coach and encourage each member of the guest services team
  • Coordinate and participate in the daily running of the guest services operation in addition to scheduling, recognition and performance management duties
  • Ensure a memorable and positive experience for our guests and staff through implementing and delivering the standard operating policies and procedures as they relate to the guest services operations, safety and employee engagement standards and practices
  • Recognize and identify business needs and adjust frontline sales strategies
  • Part of a larger Adventure Centre team with locations at Maligne Lake as well as the store located within the town site of Jasper, shifts will be scheduled at both locations
  • Responsible for daily cash handling practices and safeguards, including proper use of POS stations, cash floats, cash outs
  • Dispatching cruise boats and facilitating effective tour inventory management to maximize visitation and and/or operational efficiency
  • Handling group sales check-ins
  • Maintaining boat and visitor tracking reports
What skills and experience do you need for this job:
  • Previous supervisory, point of sale, cash handling experience, required
  • A strong hospitality-focused approach with a natural ability to proactively listen and empathize with guests
  • A passion for coaching and developing employees
  • A proven track record of “safety 1st" practices
  • Mature, energetic, dependable and self-motivated team player with a high attention to detail
  • A calm personality, comfortable working and making decisions in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment
  • Fluent and articulate in English, able to communicate and comprehend over two-way radio, required
  • Experience using RTP POS Software, an asset
  • Class 5 driver’s license (clean abstract) an asset
  • Must meet the organizations grooming and appearance standards
