Job Description

What will you do in this job:The Pursuit adventure centre department principally assists all guests by providing information on Pursuit Banff Jasper attractions and services, as well as promoting, selling and making bookings for all of our related products and services. The Guest Services Assistant Manager primarily provides direction, leadership and daily support to the guest service team, ensuring that PAC team members deliver a positive and memorable hospitality experience as well as providing solutions to any challenges experienced..This is a multi-faceted position and can include any, or all, of the following:
  • Support, train, coach and encourage to ensure that each member of the guest services team provides an interactive and professional product, sales or resolution experience
  • Works collaboratively with the Pursuit Adventure Centre manager to deliver seamless and integrated service
  • Coordinating and participating in the daily running of the Jasper Pursuit adventure center operations in addition to scheduling, recognition and performance management duties
  • Lead support on the ground in Jasper and oversees in resort promotions stemming from Jasper 4 Wall initiatives to further drive in resort visits
  • Ensure that all targets are being maintained; help with the implementation of promotional items
  • Maintain an excellent relationship with Affiliates
  • Work with Pursuit Adventure Centre Manager on all levels of communication
  • Ensure a memorable and positive experience for our guests and staff through implementing and delivering the standard operating policies and procedures as they relate to the PAC operations, safety and employee engagement standards and practices
  • Act as the “on the floor” daily leadership for the Guest Service agents providing any needed coaching and support as required
  • Operate as a sales agent fulfilling shifts required during the operating week
  • Directly support guest service agents in any service recovery issues that may arise reporting larger issues to management
  • Recognizing and identifying, business needs and adjusting frontline sales strategies and scheduling needs accordingly
  • Leads a team of ticket agents who provide sales of all Banff Jasper attractions, services and applicable 3rd party operations.
  • Complete according daily/ weekly sales tracking reporting and payroll needs assigned
  • Part of a larger Adventure Centre team, ticket agent staffing will be managed and shared between Maligne lake ticket office and the Jasper town office location. This will involve scheduling collaboration with the Maligne Lake guest services operation.
  • Responsible for daily cash handling practices and safeguards, including proper use of POS stations, cash floats, change orders and cash-outs
  • Coordinate with the Jasper attractions guest services teams as to FIT activity scheduling needs to ensure visitation maximization.
  • Ensure according retail inventory/fixtures are well stocked and clean at all times
What skills and experience do you need for this job:
  • Previous supervisory, point of sale, cash handling & reconciliation experience, required
  • A strong hospitality-focused approach with a natural ability to proactively listen and empathize with guests and staff
  • A passion for coaching and developing employees with a proven track record of “safety 1st practices
  • Mature, energetic, dependable and self-motivated team player with a high attention to detail
  • Ability to take initiative and follow through on tasks needing attention
  • Adaptable to a changing work environment and different tasks
  • Enthusiastic and outgoing personality, ability to use this to engage with guests and in resort operators
  • Competent administrative skills with proficiency in Microsoft Office applications
  • A self -starter who is comfortable working in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment without direct supervision
  • Comfortable working on your feet for extended periods of time in both an indoor and outdoor environment. Be prepare for all season weather (snow, rain, wind, hail)
  • Class 5 driver’s license (clean abstract) an asset
  • Must meet the organization grooming and appearance standards
