You will be responsible for developing, testing, improving, and maintaining existing databases to help users retrieve data effectively.As part of our IT team, you will work closely with developers to ensure system consistency. You will also collaborate with administrators and clients to provide technical support and identify new requirements. Communication and organization skills are keys for this position, along with a problem-solution attitude.WHAT WILL YOU DO

  • Design stable, reliable and effective database objects, and processes.
  • Optimize and maintain legacy systems.
  • Modify and perform tests on database objects, and processes according to requests.
  • Solve database usage issues and malfunctions.
  • Identify new features based on user requirements.
  • Ensure all database programs meet company and performance requirements.
  • Research and suggest new database products, services, and protocols.
  • Develop technical and training manuals.
  • Provide data management support to users.
  • Convert existing Java ETL to SSIS processes.
WHAT DO YOU NEED TO SUCCEEDMust have:
  • Proven work experience as a Database developer.
  • 7+ years Engineering of Enterprise grade Database systems such as SQL Server, Sybase, Oracle, or DB2.
  • Advanced proficiency in SQL programming.
  • Hands on experience with MS SQL Server Services (SSRS, SSIS, SSAS).
  • Hands on experience with Java - web design and programming.
  • Exceptional critical thinking and troubleshooting abilities.
  • In-depth understanding of data management (e.g. permissions, recovery, security and monitoring).
  • Knowledge of software development and user interface web applications.
  • Excellent analytical and organization skills.
  • An ability to understand front-end users requirements and a problem-solving attitude.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Degree in information technology, computer science, or an adjacent field.
  • Certificate in Database Development is strongly advantageous.
Nice-to-have:
  • Cloud Database knowledge of platforms like Azure, Nutanix, Kubernetes, Docker, or Openshift.
  • Developer mindset with skill in Python, Ansible, or C/C++.
  • Experience with Open source Databases such as MySQL etc., In-memory caches, Key-Value Databases and Graph Databases.
