This position plays a key role on the P amp;CB Performance Management team, providing strategic analysis and advice on the impact of I amp;CE strategic initiatives and results, and by being a primary liaison with the P amp;CB Platform Performance Management and NIE teams. You will lead the NIE/FTE processes including five year outlook, annual planning, ongoing forecasts, T-5 estimates and monthly monitoring of NIE/FTE results, while ensuring data integrity and adherence to established corporate governance and financial compliance standards.What will you do

  • Proactively provide expert analysis and advice to the SVP Insightsamp; Client Engagement (I amp;CE) through reporting and insights for I amp;CE NIE including providing key information, and ongoing advice to enable management decision making and establish action plans to maximize financial performance.
  • Act as lead for I amp;CE NIE/FTE as part of the five year outlook, where the incumbent will partner with I amp;CE management teams to determine both NIEamp; FTE outlooks, ensuring that rationale for any increases are clearly articulatedamp; available to LOB Finance partners to support increases in annual expenses.
  • Prepare and consolidate the annual Plans, Forecasts, and monthly estimates
  • Support business initiatives, i.e. Zero Based Budgeting, Activity Based Costing, Wall of Numbers, Mega Journeys (Next Best Action/Next Best Offer), Climate, etc.
  • In addition to supporting the SVP, I amp;CE, act as the key Finance contact to provide ongoing support and performance analysis re: NIE/FTE to I amp;CE leaders.
  • Work with Director of I amp;CE Finance to make recommendations re: distribution of platform NIE challenges to I amp;CE and develop strategies to achieve NIE challenge.
  • Responsible for development of NIE allocation %s at the I amp;CE cost transit level leveraging Wall of Numbers (WoN) to enable full P amp;L reporting for Canadian Banking Lines of Business.
  • Provide specialized expert advice and solutions contributing to the ongoing transparency of NIE aligned to line of business allocated NIE reporting.
  • Act as key liaison and point of integration for National Office functional groups for all strategic performance related targets and initiatives impacting I amp;CE financial and performance management results.
  • Key support to the Director, I amp;CE Finance, proactively adding value added expertise and advice on initiatives and their impact on financial performance.
What do you need to succeedMust-have:
  • Excellent communication skills, both oralamp; written, with good interpersonal skills in order to establish relationships across all levels of the enterprise.
  • Experience in financial reportingamp; analysis and cost management.
  • Experience using metrics, KPIs and cost/value drivers in performance management
  • Strong technical skills including MS Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, etc.)
  • Experience with unique financial systems such as EPM (IBM Cognos)
  • Solid business acumen and problem-solving skills
  • Curious and proactive mindset with a focus on continuous improvement
  • Comfortable dealing with incomplete information, uncertainty and change
Nice to have:
  • B. Comm, CPA-CA/CMA/CGA, MBA or equivalent work experience
  • Knowledge and understanding of banking products and processes
  • Exposure to the Bank’s Retail/Business network, products and services
  • A varied working career including positions in a number of areas of RBC or another financial institution(s)
